Hello Fish Fans,  The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida could’ve been better last week but we covered allot of water and managed to catch some fish. Blackfin Tuna started arriving on the hill last week and will probably be stacked up out there later this week when the winds and seas settle down. We caught a dozen Blackfins in about an hour on Thursday before going to look for Dolphin but never saw one the next day. I don’t know where they went but I expect they’ll return after this front pushes through. The Dolphin fishing slowed to a crawl as the week progressed as well. The Flying Fish that were abundant have all but disappeared and apparently took the fish with them. We caught a few Dolphin on every trip but more schooleys than gaffers last week.  We didn’t do any Sailfishing last week but did catch one while Dolphin fishing on Wednesday. There’s still a few Sailfish around so if you wanna catch’em we’ll be happy to hook you up.  The Cobia fishing was red hot about a month ago and slowed to a crawl but they showed up on the sandpile in packs on Friday. The winds started blowing 20+ Friday afternoon and packs of 30 to 50 pound Cobia were up on the surface chasing Flying Fish. We hooked up 4 or 5 Cobia all over 40 lbs but couldn’t get them to the boat quick enough to elude the sharks. Most of these sharks are 150 to 250 lb Bull Sharks but I’v had 350 lb Tiger Sharks eat Cobia before on the sandpile in only 40 feet of water. It was quite a show with packs of Cobia cruzing the surface chasing down Flying fish while the Sharks are breaking the surface chasing down the Cobia. We’ll be catching Sailfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Tuna, Kingfish and Cobia over the next few weeks and we’re always prepared to attack the species most eager to play the game.  I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the world.  Catch you later, Capt.
