Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida’s been hit & miss but April’s pushing in and so will the springtime dolphin bite. We’ve had some great days with dolphin/ mahi mahi up to 30 pounds this month but some days the dolphin we’re few and far between.
April/May is prime time for Stuart Florida Dolphin Fishing and most days will offer a nice catch of dolphin from 5 to 25 pounds. Slammer dolphin from 30 to 50 pounds will be caught by somebody almost everyday so put on your lucky hat and let’s go catch’em.
It was a disappointing sailfish season this year and we never had a red hot sailfish bite this winter. There’s a few resident sailfish around and a few passing through but the sailfish bite’s been on the slow side.
Springtime is also the start of the tuna bite. Blackfin tuna from 5 to 15 pounds are starting to show up on the hill about 10 miles offshore and will stack up over the coming weeks. It’s been just a pick so far so we’ve been catching 4 to 6 in between the hunt for dolphin and sailfish.
There’s been a few wahoo around and the full moon of April can deliver an excellent wahoo bite from Stuart to Jupiter. Most of the wahoo we catch off the coast of Stuart are 15 to 35 pounds but we’ve caught wahoo up to 60 pounds off Stuart/Jupiter.
