Hello Fish Fans, Welcome aboard the REEL BUSY and to our Stuart Florida Fishing Report. Windy days and sporty seas kept the weed lines busted up and the dolphin scattered about for most of April. Some days were REEL good and others not so much. May is finally upon us and the wind and seas look to be settling down. The next 90 days we offer Stuart Florida Fishing Charters and Bahamas Fishing Adventures catching dolphin, sailfish, yellow fin and black fin tuna, kingfish, wahoo, blue marlin, snappers and grouper.

May is my favorite time of year for Dolphin and Tuna fishing. Most of the dolphin we’re catching are 7 to 10 pounds and we catch 30 to 50 pound trophy dolphin every May off the coast of Stuart. The weed lines will be forming up with the calmer seas and these weed lines will be teaming with life. Sailfish, dolphin, wahoo and blue marlin will be found feeding along these weed lines.

Sailfish are more known as winter species migrating south for the winter. The last two years the summer sailfish bites been better than the winter bite and looks to be the same for 2017. Another mild winter will keep allot of sailfish hanging around Stuart for most of the summer. We don’t get too many double digit days but do get 2 or 3 opportunities on most days.

The black fin tuna bite off the coast of Stuart is off to a slow start this year but there’s a few around. Most of the black fin tuna we’ve been catching are 7 to 10 pounds with a few from 15 to 25 pounds. As the wind and seas settle down this month the black fin tuna will stack up on a ridge 10 miles off the beach and they’re always eager to play the game.

The east side tuna bite off the corner of the Bahama Bank is going off. Yellow fin tuna from 35 to 85 pounds with blackfin tuna of 15 to 25 pounds in the mix. Big slammer dolphin, wahoo and blue marlin are also in the mix.
