The Dolphin Fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida is excellent right now and should continue to be for the next 4 to 6 weeks. Dolphin is the main attraction this time of year but we’re also catching Tuna and sailfish as well.
After being stuck at the dock with high winds and seas most of the week we finally got back out yesterday and it was sweet. On most days good dolphin fishing is just 6 to 8 miles off the beach but with a lack of gulfstream current near shore and an abundance of boat traffic we ventured out about 15 miles to hunt some dolphin down.
We ended up about 15 miles off the beach in 750 feet of water. The conditions were perfect with weed lines and large Sargasso weed mattes in the mix. The dolphin were eager to play the game and we caught, lost and released allot of fish. We never saw any 20 pounders but we came home with 17 dolphin from 5 to 10 pounds and had a great time.
