The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida was not as good as expected after all the wind we had last week but there was a few more Dophin around than there was before the weather. We were hoping for a couple of Sailfish on Friday but ended up with a 15 pound Dolphin, small Blackfin Tuna, a couple of Barracua and a handfull of Bonita. There’s no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to fishin’ but The Bahama Bank is as close as it gets so on Saturday the guys decided to give it a shot. The northwest corner of the Bahama Bank is refered to as the corner and the ledge drops from 150′ to 600′ within about 200 yards and down to 1500′ within 400 yards. The corner is 60 miles east/northeast of Stuart, Florida which only takes about 1 hr 45 minutes on the Reel Busy and the water is so blue it’s almost purple. The flying fish stack up between the currents which makes it a playground for Blue Marlin, White Marlin , Sailfish, Dolphin , Wahoo, Blackfin & Yellowfin Tuna , Bonita , Barracuda and Sharks. We never saw a billfish on Saturday but we caught Blackfin Tuna, Rainbow Runners, Bonita, Barracuda, Kingfish and a 31 lb Wahoo. The action was almost non-stop and as usual we spent more time catchin’ fish than we did fishin’. The sea conditions this week are picture perfect and the fishing off the corner is red hot so give me a call if you’re ready for a fishing trip you’ll never forget. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
The weather has kept the boats off the water the last two weeks and I’m goin’ nuts. Last week was fishable if you’re into rainy, stormy conditions and thunder and lightning excites you but I’ve been hit before and it’s definitely overrated. This week the winds been blowin 20 to 30 knots with 7′ to 10′ seas and today’s the first day we’ve seen winds under 20 knots. The winds and seas are laying down and the fishing should be good over the Labor Day weekend on into next week. The fish haven’t had anyone to play with for the last couple of weeks so they should be ready to play the game. Sailfish, Dolphin, Kingfish and Bonita should be feeding on the baitfish stacked up along the edge of the gulfstream six to eight miles off the beach. We’ll be catchin’ fish and you could too, give us a call and we’ll hook you up. I’ll be back next week with a fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida has been fair to good over the last few weeks but last week the Summertime Sailfish turned on. The summer sailfish run is a great time for those who always wanted to catch a sailfish but prefer not to venture out into the sporty sea conditions that generally come with the winter sailfish run. There’s not too much going on this week with the rainy weather that’s hanging here but by the weekend the conditions will be as good as it gets. There’s been a few more dolphin around as well but it will be a few weeks before they become a consistant catch. Fall is just around the corner and the Wahoo are starting to show up. The full moons of Septmber, October and Novenber will be prime time for Wahoo fishing both on the Stuart side of the gulfstream and even better on the Bahamas side. There’s still a few Blackfin Tuna on the hill in the 5 to 8 pound range but we haven’t been seeing the 15 to 20 pound Tunas for the last couple of weeks. The Tuna will keep thining out as the Wahoo and Sailfish move in but there should be a few around for the next week or two. I took last week off and went up to Cape May for the Mid-Atlantic 500 Marlin Tournament. We caught a few but never found the big one to put us in the money. It’s great to be back where the action is 5 to 10 miles off the beach instead of 90 miles. I don’t think I could deal with a 90 mile ride on a daily basis and there’s no doubt we’re spoiled here in Stuart. We’re catchin’ fish and you should to so give me a call and we’ll hook you up. I’ll be back in September with another fishing report from Stuart Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 305-304-9049 cell or 772-288-1332 home
Hello FishFans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida this past week was on the slow side but we’re catching fish. Sailfish, Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna, Bonita, Kingfish and Barracuda have been providing the action but there’s more quiet time between bites than I’d like to see. The Stuart Sailfish Club Jr. Anglers Tournament was last Saturday and although the fishing left a bit to be desired all the kids caught fish and had a great time. We spent most of the morning targeting Sailfish but they didn’t cooperate so we headed out to the hill in search of Dolphin & Tuna. We finished our day with a 1st Place Barracda for one Jr. Angler and a 3rd Place Tuna for the other. I’ll be back in a week or two with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida has been pictire perfect with calm seas & sunny skies. The Blackfin Tuna are still stacked up on Push Button Hill providing the most consistent action in the area. Most of the Tuna we’re catching are 7 to 10 pounds with a few 15 pounders in the mix. The Dolphin fishing is getting better and we’re catchin 5 to 15 pounders on a regular basis. It’s not red hot but with a box full of Tuna it only takes a few to top off the day. The Sailfishing remains on and off but anyday can be a great day this time of year. They’re scattered about so one day you’ll only get one or two shots and the next day we’ll get 4 or 5 shots. The Kingfish are showing up in numbers now and there’s been a few Wahoo in the mix. The Wahoo is considered to be the fastest fish in the ocean and the full moons of Sept., Oct. and November is prime time for catching Wahoo. Most of the Wahoo we’ll be catching off the coast of Stuart will be 20 to 40 pounds and 40 to 80 pounds on the Bahamas side of the Gulfstream. Overall the fishing is good and the conditions are great so give me a call and we’ll hook you up. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 305-304-9049 cell
Hello Fish Fans, The last week or so left me with not much to report. The winds picked up and the seas were choppy most of the week so many of the trips were canceled. It was only 3-5′ seas but the waves were tooclose together for comfort so most decided to try again another time. The fishing wasn’t red hot but there’s a mix of Sailfish, Kingfish, Dolphin, Tuna and Bonita between 6 Mile Reef and Push Button Hill. The conditions have improved so give me a call and let’s catch fish. I’ll be back in a week or so with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the world. Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida this past week was on the slow side. The Sailfish that were freejumping all over town last week dissapeared this week and Sailfish releases were few and far between. There were a few Mai-Mahi scattered about but overall the Dolphin fishing was on the slow side as well. The Blackfin Tuna fishing remains excellent about 11 miles off the beach. Most of these Tuna are 5 to 8 pounds but we did catch them up to 15 pounds again this week. The winds and seas chopped up over the weekend and will remain a bit bumpy for most of this week. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida was good this past week and it’s gettin’ better. The Blackfin Tuna are still the most consistant bite of them all. Most of the tuna we’ve been catchin’ are 5 to 8 pounds but we’re catchin’ at least one fish over 10 to 12 pounds on most trips. The Blackfin Tuna usually stick around through the month of July and start dissapearing sometime in August. The Dolphin fishing is improving and we’re not only seeing more fish but a few bigger fish up to 30 pounds. The Sailfish moved in thick about a week ago but most of them haven’t been willing to play the game. Yesterday we started out catching Blackfin Tuna and once we had put togther a few meals we headed closer to shore to catch a Sailfish or two. I informed my crew to keep they’re eyes open for freejumping Sailfish and it wasn’t long before we saw the first one. The first Sailfish we saw was just cruising on the surface with it’s sail up. It was awesome to see but this Sailfish had no interest in playing the game. The next six or seven we’re all putting on a great show freejumping over and over again. The Sailfish will jump out of the water landing on their sides to remove parasites that attach themselves to body of the Sailfish. We did eventually have one Sailfish hit a bait but I think he was more interested in killing the bait than eating it. There’s alot of Sailfish here right now and the Sailfihing will be red hot as soon as these fish start feeding. We’re catchin’ fish and you could to. Give me a call and we’ll hook you up. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 305-304-9049 cell
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida this past week could have been better but any day spent fishing is a good day. The Dolphin fishing is still on and off so you don’t know if you don’t go but overall it’s been on the slow side. There’s plenty of action along the Six Mile Reef for the sportfishing enthusiast. The Sailfishing is good and you can expect to catch 1 or 2 on a slow day and 3 to 5 on a good day. In-between the Sailfish hook-ups there’ll be packs of 10 to 20 Lb Bonita (False Albacore) to keep you Reel Busy. There’s usually plenty of Dolphin moving along the Six Mile as well but that wasn’t the case last week. Yesterday we spent the day fishing Push Button Hill about 11 miles off the beach. We caught 21 Blackfin Tuna but only caught 1 small Dolphin. I hope the Dolphin fishing improves as the new moon approaches but I’m confident the Blackfin Tuna will be ready to play the game. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. We’re catchin’ fish and you should too. Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
