Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida has been excellent this past week and you gotta love it when Sailfish & Cobia are this eager to play the game. There’s acres of Hornbellies scattered about just a few miles offshore and packs of Sailfish are popping up everywhere. There’s only one thing better than watching a Sailfish approach a live bait behind the boat is watching a pack of them jumping the spread. Doubles and triples have been abundant the last few days and if you ‘ve been wanting to catch’em, nows the time to give me a call and get hooked up with a fish you’ll never forget. We’ve been catching alot of Cobia inbetween the sailfish bites. We’ve had to let alot go but had a 38lb Cobia on one trip and a 42lb Cobia on another. There’s been a few Dolphin on the edge of the gulfstream but with the Sailfish & Cobia bite so good closer to shore we haven’t been catching many Dolphin. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida has on & off and day to day. Back to back cold fronts pushed through last week on Wednesday and again on Friday night turning the Sailfish on & off all week long. The Sailfishing was good to excellent most of the week but slowed to a crawl over the weekend with strong winds and tempertures in the 40′s. Earlier in the week the Sailfish were going nuts less than 3 miles off the beach in 50/60 feet of water. The tempertures started warming today and there’s plenty of Sailfish around so we should have an excellent bite this week. There hasn’t been many Dolphin around the last two weeks but there were several packs pushing bait around yesterday. The easterly breezes forcast for the next few days should push more Dolphin to the edge of the gulfstream so you can expect to see more Dolphin bites in-between the Sailfish bites off the coast of Stuart, Jensen beach & Jupiter. There was a handful of Cobia caught last week and they’ll start arriving in numbers over the next few weeks. I’ll be back next week with sanother fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Hello FishFans, The Sailfishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida was as good as it gets anywhere in the world but the last 7/10 days it’s been a bit hit & miss for us. We had been enjoying 3 to 5 Sailfish hook-ups on every trip and catching at least 2 or 3 so I guess I was due for some Humble Pie. The sea conditions have been too nice for catchin’ and mix that up with a full moon and it’s hero or zero time. This past weekend I lost count on how many Sailfish I saw freejumping around the boat but they didn’t want to play the game. I’ve had enough Humble Pie for a while and look forward to dancing a few Sailfish on my next trip. The cold front that pushed through last week has the sailfish on the move and were starting to see schools of baitfish just off the coast so the best Sailfishing is still to come. There’s a mild front moving through this Wednesday and I expect we’ll have a great bite going into the weekend. The Dolphin fishing slowed to a crawl last week but will pick back up as we get closer to the quarter moon. There’s been a few Wahoo around and it won’t be long before the Manta Rays arrive with packs of Cobia in tow. There’s a few Blackfin Tuna on the Hill 11 miles off the coast of Stuart but most of them are only 2 to 3 lbs. The larger Blackfins will start showing up in 6 to 8 weeks and will be around throughout the spring and into the summer months. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Happy New Year 2012 ! I want to thank all of you that fished with me aboard the Reel Busy in 2011 and hope to see you again in 2012. The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida from Jensen Beach to Jupiter continues to be excellent year after year and 2011 was no different. The best Sailfishing was during the months of January/ February and with the first major cold front of the year pushing through this week they could still be plentiful in March this year. Stuart, Florida is the Sailfish Capital of the World because we catch’em all year long. The best Dolphin fishing in 2011 was a bit later than the past few years and May/ June was hot. The largest Dolphin caught aboard the Reel Busy in 2011 was 50.4 lbs and 20/30 lb Dolphin were abundant. The Dolphin push through in waves all year long but late winter/spring through the summer months is the best. The Blackfin Tuna fishing was excellent in 2011 just 11 miles off the coast of Stuart. They were more abundant and larger than they’ve been the past few years, 8 to 12 lb average and up to 27 lbs. The Blackfins will start arriving during the springtime and stay throughout the summer months but late spring early summer is usually the best. The Yellowfin Tuna fishing off the Bahama Bank was slower than normal this year so we didn’t make as many trips and our largest Yellowfin was about 50lbs. The Cobia fishing was excellent as usual this past spring and 40/ 50 lb Cobia were abundant. Every Spring the Cobia migrate into the waters off the coast of Stuart travelling beneath Giant Manta Rays. Once they arrive they’ll be hanging around the wrecks feeding and waiting to play the game. We didn’t catch alot of Wahoo in 2011 off the coast of Stuart and the largest one was about 40 lbs but they were plentiful as usual on the other side of the gulfstream. The Wahoo have just started to show up and the next few months is primetime on both sides of the gulfstream. The Kingfish bite was a bit slower than normal in 2011 and the largest one we caught was 45 lbs. They’re starting to move in and will be abundant as we get closer to springtime. Sailfish, Dolphin, Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna, Sharks, Cobia, Kingfish, Bonita, Barracuda, Snappers & Groupers. We catch’em all and you can to just give me a call and we’ll hook you up. Have a Happy new Year and we hope to see you soon. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
The sea conditions off the coast of Stuart Florida have been a bit sporty but the fishin’s great. Sailfish are the main attraction this time of year and they’re plentiful right now so if you’ve been wanting to catch’em nows the time to get hooked-up. Sailfishing aboard the Reel Busy you can hook’em up yourself or we’ll hook’em for you, it’s your choice. Yesterday we had 5 Sailfish bites and caught 2 along with Dolphin up to 20lbs, Bonita and a Shark. The sea conditions are inproving and the fishing is excellent so give me a call and let’s go catch’em. We’re catchin Sailfish & Dolphin everyday and Kingfish, Barracuda, Bonita, Tuna and Wahoo are all possibilities this time of year. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Merry Christmas and we’ll catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Hello Fish Fans, It’s Sailfish Season off the coast of Stuart, Florida and December/January is prime time. The best Sailfishing has been 20 miles north of the inlet but packs of Sailfish have been popping up of Juno Beach to Sebastion. We’re catchin 3 to 5 on most days but we had a day last week it felt like we were using rubber hooks. They worked fine for Dolphin but had 4 shots at the Sailfish and they won the game. The sea conditons have been a bit sporty the last couple of weeks but the fishing was good for those who ventured out. Sailfish and Dolphin continue to be the main attraction but we’re starting to see a few Kingfish and the Wahoo won’t be far behind. Closer to shore along the beaches the Spanish Mackerel are thick providing non-stop light tackle action. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida continues to be excellent with Sailfish and Dolphin eager to play the game. Packs of Dolphin are still pushing through 6 to 8 miles offshore and most of them are 7 to 12 lbs, a few in the 20′s. The next wave of Sailfish are moving in and we’re not seeing double digits releases yet but it won’t be long. December/January is Prime Time Sailfishing off the coast of Stuart and if you’re ready to catch’em we can hook you up. The Dolphin fishing will continue to be excellent as well and we’ve been catching 5 to 10 on every trip in-between the Sails. The Kingfish are starting to show up around the reefs and the Spanish Mackerel are thick just south of the inlet inside the breakers. The sea conditions this time of year can be a bit sporty around the cold fronts so timing is everything but the fishing is as good as it gets anywhere in the world. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida continues to be excellent and the Mahi Mahi are still chewin’. We caught 13 more Dolphin today from 5/6 lbs up to 20 lbs. The easterly breezes have pushed packs of flying fish into the reef line from 80 to 140′ of water and the Dolphin are tearin’ them up. The Dolphin fishin should continue to be excellent and we’re not catchin peanuts, they’re all nice fish this time of year. The sailfishing has been dissapointing for the last week or so and we’re still waiting for the next migrating pack of Sailfish to push through. The last pack has worked it’s way south and is now between Palm Beach and Juno Beach pushin south. The Sailfish migrating to the south come through in waves and many of them will hang out off the coast of Stuart before continueing south. The Spanish Mackerel are starting to arrive in numbers providing non-stop light tackle action along the beach just south of the St’ Lucie Inlet. I’ll be back in a week or so with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt Wayne, Reel Busy Charters, 772-341-6609
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida has been excellent with packs of Mahi Mahi pushing through the last 4 days. They were still a bit scattered on Saturday and we caught 5 or 6 up to 20+ lbs while Sailfishing, 9 on Sunday, 10 on Monday and 16 up to 12 lbs today. The Dolphin fishing should continue to be excelent as the easterly breezes push the gulfstream currents closer to shore. The Sailfishing slowed to a crawl for a few days and there wasn’t many caught but the next wave is on it’s way and they’ll be ready to play the game. The Sailfish don’t elude me very often and I expect to catch 2 or 3 everyday this time of year but the one we caught this afternoon was the first one in a few days. The bite had been good to excellent a bit south of the inlet for the last few weeks but those fish have moved on so we ran to the north and it paid off. The next wave of migrating Sailfish is starting to show up about 15 miles north of the inlet so the Sailfishing will be good to excellent in the comming days. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida was excellent last week on the days we got out but Thursday & Friday were the only fishable days. The sea were 7 to 10, close together and all chopped up early in the week and 10 to 15′ over the weekend. Thursday was still a bit choppy but most of the bigger waves were swells and it got nicer throughout the day. We caught 6 Dolphin and a few Bonita but the highlight of the day was a 45lb Smoker Kingfish. The Smoker King hit like a frieght train and line started screamin off the reel, you gotta love it. At first I thought it was an oversized Bonita because it never jumped and with a 60lb mono leader it surely couldn’t be a Kingfish or Wahoo, right. We primarily fish circle hooks this time of year because there’s so many Sailfish around and it worked to perfection on this Smoker King. The hook was buried in the King’s jaw keeping the razor sharp teeth away from the mono leader. Friday was absolutly picture perfect with rolling swells and excellent fishing. We fished a 1/2 day for Dolphin and caught 9 Dolphin, 4 Bonita and a few small Tuna. Just to the south of us the Sailfish bite was on and most of the boats I talked to had at least 3 to 5 shots at Sailfish. One boat had 6, anothe had 4 and several released 2 or 3. Sailfish and Dolphin are the main attraction off the coast of Stuart right now and fishing will continue to be excellent. The sea conditions will be improving again later in the week but it doesn’t look like there’ll be any fishing going on for a couple more days. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
