Hello Fish Fans, March is known to be a windy month and this last week or so has been brutal. The only day fishable this week was Thursday and it was much nicer than forecast but today the only boat to make it out the inlet was the 54’ Boneshaker and it turned arround and came back to the dock. The good news is Big Dolphin are starting to show up. We caught our first Big Bull Dolphin of the year on Thursday and it weighed in at 30.8 pounds. The winds will keep everybody at the dock for the next couple of days but the forecast for Monday on into the week is for 2 to 3 foot seas. The next six weeks will produce more Big Dolphin over 30 pounds than any other time of year so if you’ve been wanting to catch a Big Bull Dolphin you need to give us a call. The Reel Busy has caught 30 to 40 pound Dolphin every year for the pa/20 years and I can assure you this year will be no different. Last year we never caught one over 50 pounds but we’ve caught them up to 60 pounds in recent years. The Sailfishing will probably be very good over the next week following these windy conditions. Although the Sailfishing will be on and off this month when it’s good, it’s Reel e Good. The Kingfish and Bonita along the reefs edge should provide plenty of action if the Sailfishing is slow but we had 2 Sailfish attack our baits yesterday while we were Dolphin fishing so there’s plenty of sailfish arround right now. I’m sorry to say we haven’t had the opportunity to go hunting for Cobia but if the seas are as calm next week as forecast we’ll have to check it out. Looking for a trip you’ll never forget ? April,May and June is prime time for the corner trip off the Bahama Bank and we’ll be catchin Blackfin Tuna,Yellowfin Tuna, Big Dolphin, Wahoo,Sailfish and Blue Marlin. Travel time is 2 hours including a short break about half way but you’ll be Reel Busy catchin fish til it’s time to head for home. I’ll be back next month with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfsih Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-288-1332 home or 305-304-9049 cell
Hello Fish Fans, The Dolphin fishing was just gettin’ good when the full moon approached and the bite started slowing down. The Dolphin Fishing usually slows down on the days surrounding the full moon but the Fishing Gods gave us the added bonus of West Winds which created a total shutdown, thank you Very much. We only managed to fi/2 Dolphin on Monday and only heard of one other boat catching one. Today was so bad the only one I saw was caught on a boat next to me and it was too small to keep. The good news is the winds will go back to normal over the next day or so and by the weekend the Dolphin fishing will get fired up again. Big Dolphin will begin showing up over the next several weeks and during April/May we’ll catch Dolphin over 20 pounds on a regular basis. You’ll need a little luck but we catch 30 to 40 pound Dolphin every year, occasionally a 50 pound Dolphin and the record on the Reel Busy is 60 pounds. The Sailfishing has slowed down but if your persistant you’ll propably catch one or two. There’s not much live bait around right now and when the bait shows back up you can bet the Sailfish will show up and hang around. There’s been a few Blackfin Tuna showing up here and there and as spring moves in so will the Blackfin Tuna. I’ll be back reel soon with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt.
