Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart has been hit & miss but it’s gettin’ better. Sailfish are freejumping all over the ocean but catchin’ them has been a reel challenge. There’s less west wind in the forecast over the next week and with the full moon passing the Sailfishing should turn on. There’s plenty of bait and the Sailfish are here so it’s just a matter of time before they decide to play the game. The Dolphin fishing has improved over the last week and this will continue as the new moon approaches. Most of the Dolphin we’ve been catching are 5 to 10 pounds but there’s still 20 to 30 pound Dolphin just a few miles offshore. Kingfish and Bonita are still plentifull and providing plenty of action for those who just want to bend the rods. Wahoo fishing is a great way to start your day this time of year but you’ll need to get out early to get your lines in the water for sunrise. Most of the Wahoo we’ll catch this time of year will be on debris or early in the morning before the sun heats up in 200’ of water. The Dolphin fishing has been more productive trolling dead Ballyhoo than live bait fishing but the Sailfishing has been more productive live bait fishing. The weather is nice and the seas are calm so give us a call and let’s go catch’em. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World.
