Hello Fish Fans, The Dolphin Fishin should be Red Hot this time of year but the la/2 weeks there’s been allot more fishin than catchin goin on. We’ve caught some Big Dolphin over 30 pounds but fishin all day for 2 or 3 fish is not what the doctor ordered. The winds normally blow out of the east and southeast this time of year forming up weedlines that are teaming with Dolphin just waiting to play the game but that hasn’t been the case lately. The southwest and west winds have most of the weedlines broken up and scattered and the Dolphin are just as scattered as the weeds. Everyday 1 or 2 boats get lucky and catch a few nice Dolphin but it’s been slower than I’ve seen it in over 30 years of fishin off the southeast coast of Florida. One day last week we covered over 90 miles of water between 80 feet and 1800 feet of water and never found a Dolphin, 2 days later we fished all day and only caught 2 Dolphin, one at 33 pounds and the other weighed 10 pounds. I’m sure it’ll get better and I hope it’s reel soon but until these winds stop swingin arround you gotta be lucky. There’s Dolphin, Sailfish, Kingfish and Wahoo out there but it’s hit and miss and day to day. I hope to have better news in my next report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World.
