Welcome aboard the REEL BUSY and our Stuart Florida Fishing Report. We’ve had a great time bouncing back and forth fishing Stuart Florida and Grand Cay Bahamas. On our Stuart Florida Fishing Charters we’ve been catching sailfish, black fin tuna, kingfish, bonito and a few dolphin. On our Bahamas Fishing Adventures we’ve been catching big muttons and grouper on the bank and black fin, skipjack and yellowfin tuna offshore.
The summer sailfish bite slowed a bit for a week or so but they fired back up last week. Monster bonito will fill in some of the quiet time and you’ll get 3 to 5 sailfish bites on most days if you put your time in. There’s some big sailfish around right now and we measured one at 91 inches a couple weeks ago.
Kingfish and bonito are abundant around the reefs and wrecks with amberjack and cobia in the mix.
The dolphin fishing’s looks to be improving though most of the action continues to be 12 to 20 miles offshore. The Sargasso weed continues to be scattered and so are the dolphin. The weed lines have been trying to form up but the changing winds have kept them busted up.
We’ve had a couple of 3 day Bahamas Fishing Adventures so far this month and the only thing better is 4 or 5 day trip to the Bahamas. We’ve been catching blackfin and skipjack tuna with a few yellowfin tuna on the travel days. The 2nd day we spent mutton fishing the rocks from Grand Cay to Strangers Cay on one trip, deep dropping, snorkeling and snapper fishing on the other. Mutton fishing in the Bahamas is a light tackle experience you’ll never forget. Most of the muttons we’re catching are 10 to 20 pounds and we’re fishing in less than 20 feet of water. Call Capt.
