Happy New Year 2012 ! I want to thank all of you that fished with me aboard the Reel Busy in 2011 and hope to see you again in 2012. The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida from Jensen Beach to Jupiter continues to be excellent year after year and 2011 was no different. The best Sailfishing was during the months of January/ February and with the first major cold front of the year pushing through this week they could still be plentiful in March this year. Stuart, Florida is the Sailfish Capital of the World because we catch’em all year long. The best Dolphin fishing in 2011 was a bit later than the past few years and May/ June was hot. The largest Dolphin caught aboard the Reel Busy in 2011 was 50.4 lbs and 20/30 lb Dolphin were abundant. The Dolphin push through in waves all year long but late winter/spring through the summer months is the best. The Blackfin Tuna fishing was excellent in 2011 just 11 miles off the coast of Stuart. They were more abundant and larger than they’ve been the past few years, 8 to 12 lb average and up to 27 lbs. The Blackfins will start arriving during the springtime and stay throughout the summer months but late spring early summer is usually the best. The Yellowfin Tuna fishing off the Bahama Bank was slower than normal this year so we didn’t make as many trips and our largest Yellowfin was about 50lbs. The Cobia fishing was excellent as usual this past spring and 40/ 50 lb Cobia were abundant. Every Spring the Cobia migrate into the waters off the coast of Stuart travelling beneath Giant Manta Rays. Once they arrive they’ll be hanging around the wrecks feeding and waiting to play the game. We didn’t catch alot of Wahoo in 2011 off the coast of Stuart and the largest one was about 40 lbs but they were plentiful as usual on the other side of the gulfstream. The Wahoo have just started to show up and the next few months is primetime on both sides of the gulfstream. The Kingfish bite was a bit slower than normal in 2011 and the largest one we caught was 45 lbs. They’re starting to move in and will be abundant as we get closer to springtime. Sailfish, Dolphin, Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Tuna, Sharks, Cobia, Kingfish, Bonita, Barracuda, Snappers & Groupers. We catch’em all and you can to just give me a call and we’ll hook you up.
