Hello Fish Fans, This past week started out un-fishable with 12 t0 14 foot seas on Monday, 10 to 12 on Tuesday and 8 to 10 on Wednesday. We finally got out on Thursday morning and the conditions continued to improve the rest of the week. The heavy seas and west winds scattered the Dolphin around so it was a hit or miss, you either had a great day or you struggled to catch a few. The Sailfishing remains excellent for this time of year, there’s so many Sailfish around that we’re catchin 1 or 2 when we’re Dolphin fishing. Today should be the last day of west winds so as the week goes on I expect the Dolphin fishing to improve, the weedlines will reform and the Dolphin will be more concentrated around them. The Wahoo never showed up in numbers this year and during a Dolphin, Kingfish, Wahoo tournament this past weekend not even 1 of the 310 boats fishing the tournament weighed in a Wahoo. The new moon is this Wednesday so the offshore fishing for Sailfish and Dolphin should be excellent for the 10 days or so but if you want to target the Blue Marlin the first week in June and July will be prime time, the Blue Marlin are the most aggressive around the full moon. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World.
