Hello Fishfans, The fishing this past week off the coast of Stuart Florida was excellent once again. The Sailfishing is starting to slow down but we still managed to catch 1 or 2 on most days and 4 on two different days. The Sailfish are moving down the coast in packs so when you get into them multiple hook-ups are plentiful but the bite is on and off so you’ll need to be persistant if you want to catch’em. The Dolphin fishing is off to a great start, it’s a little early to expect double digit catches but we did catch 18 between 5 and 10 pounds on Saturday. The Cobia are starting to show up along the reefs and under the turtles and manta rays moving around between Stuart and Ft. Pierce. The fishing and the weather conditions this past week were as good as it gets but today we cut the day short. The winds kicked up to about 25mph bringing with it a 4 to 6 foot sloppy sea and the fish seemed to be on holiday. Springtime fishing will be moving in over the next 30 days and you can expect the Sailfishing to start slowing down and the Dolphin fishing will start turning on. I love to catch and release Sailfish but after 2 or 3 months of catch and release the preditor in me is ready to kill some fish. For those of you that want to eat what you catch your gonna love fishing on the Reel Busy in March. We’ll be catching Dolphin, Wahoo, Cobia or Kingfish on a daily basis and when the conditions are condusive we’ll be catchin Yellowfin Tuna off the coast of the Bahamas. Give us a call and let’s go fishing ! I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World.
