Hello Fish Fans, The fishing over the last couple of weeks has been like night & day. The fishing has been excellent when the winds blow any combination containing north and east but when the winds contain any combination of south or west the fishing slowed to a crawl. There’s another cold front pushing thru today bringing tempertures down to the lower 40’s tonight which is unusual for late February. The Spanish Sardines are stacked up on the wrecks which should improve the Sailfishing off the coast of Stuart on into March. The Dolphin fishing is still excellent and probably will be for the next several months. The Dolphin will be getting bigger and bigger over the next couple of months and we’ll start seeing more 20 and 30 pound Dolphin as we get into April and May. Most of the Dolphin right now are 6 to 12 pounds but a few in the 15 to 20 pound class are being caught almost on a daily basis. We haven’t seen any Cobia yet but they’ll being showing up reel soon. The kingfish are scattered around but there’s plenty around if you looking to catch’em. The Wahoo is the fastest fish in the ocean and March/April is an excellent time of year to target them. The best time of day to catch these speedsters is early morning so get out for sunrise and with a little bit of luck you might catch a couple while the other boats are catchin for baitfish. The fishing over the next couple of weeks should be excellent so give us a call and let’s go catch’em. I’ll be back in a week or two with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt.
