(772) 341-6609 Book A Charter Today!

The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida has been good to excellent for the last 7 to 10 days and we’ve been catching Blackfin Tuna and/or Dolphin on every charter. April got off to a slow start for a few days as the strong westerly winds pushed the fish offshore and scattered them about. The Blackfin Tuna showed up around the hill about a week ago and we’ve been catching a couple of 12 to 15 pounders on most of our trips. The Blackfin Tuna move on and off the hill but we’ll be catching them for the next several months. The Blackfin Tuna that move onto Push Button Hill this time of year have been getting bigger and it sure would be nice if the trend continues. We’re still catching a few 3 to 5 pound tuna but we’re catching allot more 10 to 15 pound tuna than we did a couple of years ago on the hill. The Dolphin fishing took a bit longer to get fired up again but Dolphin Fishing’s been excellent for the last 4 or 5 days. We’ve been catching a few more schooley dolphin than in previous weeks and we’re still catching 10 to 20 pound Gaffer Dolphin on most of our charters. The largest Dolphin we caught last week was 31 pounds and had a couple more between 25 & 30 so if you’re looking to catch a Trophy Dolphin now’s the time to give us a call and catch’em. There’s still allot of Sailfish off the coast of Stuart and on most days you can expect 1 or 2 opportunities to catch’em. There’s been a few Wahoo starting to show up and I expect there’ll be more Wahoo action this week with the full moon upon us. The full moons of springtime and summertime are primetime for Marlin, Wahoo and Swordfish. We don’t spend much time targeting Marlin off the coast of Stuart Florida but we usually catch a couple of Blue Marlin aboard the REEL BUSY every year while Dolphin Fishing. Find a pack of schooley dolphin and you can bet there’s a marlin nearby looking for lunch. We struggled with some tough fishing on Saturday and weeds scattered up so bad it was a nightmare keeping the lines clear. We spent most of the morning hunting for Dolphin and only found a couple of small Dolphin. We finally caught a 25 pound BULL Dolphin and decided to push back in closer to shore in search of a Sailfish to finish the day. We had a nice catch of Dolphin for the freezer but it was time to roll and we hadn’t found a Sailfish so we prepared to head for the dock. We put away the teasers and got one of the lines in when the long rigger went off, about 115 feet of water. I could see the presumed Sailfish thrashing it’s head to shake the hook lose and it was game on. Casey is the mate aboard the REEL BUSY and one of Stuart Florida’s best so when he belted out it’s a White Marlin I knew I wasn’t seeing things. We don’t catch many White Marlin off the coast of Stuart, let alone in 115 feet of water but we got a gift from God and it was showtime. It was an awesome sight to see as this 75 to 80 pound White Marlin tried to spool a TLD 25. We got back about 450 yards of line when the handle on the reel locked up and wouldn’t turn. It got a bit crazy for Casey as we back down to keep the pressure off and he tied the line to another reel. It took about 40 minutes but we landed and released the first White Marlin aboard the new REEL BUSY. We’ve got a few days open both this week and next so give us a call and get hooked up with a great day of fishing aboard the REEL BUSY. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
