Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart, Florida was good some days, challenging the next and brutally bad this weekend. The run off from all the rains last weekend created color changes stacked with sargasso weed and the Dolphin we’re abundant tearing up the baitfish in the weeds. As the dirty water pushed offshore to Push Button Hill the Blackfin Tuna Bite shut down and the Dolphin fishing was a bit more hit & miss than the week before. Yesterday a low pressure system started moving up from the carribean handing out lock-jaw to all the fish in the ocean. Heavy cloud cover was also brought in to make sure it would be as difficult as possible for fish to play the game. We relentlessly pursued them searching almost 80 miles of water and not even a bite. I know it’s called fishing, and sometimes the fish don’t play the game but Zero, REELY ? The weather system will continue moving east and the fishing should fire back up in the next couple of days. The largest Dolphin of the year will be caught over the next 4 to 6 weeks and May is consisitantly the best month of the year for Dolphin Fishing. The Yellowfin Tuna have arrived north of the Bahama Bank averaging 40 to 50lbs and up to 80lbs on most trips. The Yellowfin Tuna trip is consistantly a trip of a lifetime and one you’ll never forget. Hundreds and hundreds of birds swooping down for flying fish as they try to escape the packs of Yellowfin Tuna that are busting them up, it’s an awesome site to see. Dolphin/Tuna is the main attraction this time of year but there’s a few sailfish around and Grouper season opens up on May 1st so whatever your interest Reel Busy Charters can hook you up. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart, Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne Brodeur, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609
