Hello Fish Fans, The Dolphin fishin off the coast of stuart Florida is Red Hot right now espiecailly on the Reel Busy. The Reel Busy is one of the only charter boats that fishes on the backside of the Gulfstream on a regular basis. One trip on the backside and you’ll be hooked, the water is electric blue, there’s more fish and less boats, this is a very productive combination. This past week was Red Hot, one day we caught over 30 Dolphin with one 20 pounder, we had three days where we caught less than ten fish but on those days all the Dolphin were big, between 20 and 40 pounds. Yesterday was the slowest day I’ve had in the past week only catchin 2 Dolphin between 10 and 15 pounds but it might have been the best day of the week. At 10:00am we had a small Dolphin hook-up on one of the flat lines til we saw him get off and go flying sideways, it looked reely odd but we soon realized what had happened when we hooked-up a Blue Marlin on on the left long rigger. After about 2 1/2 hours we boated and released a Blue Marlin weighing between 150 a/200 pounds on 20 pound spinning tackle. Angler Larry Laney did a great job on this fish and is already the second angler this year on the Reel Busy to release a Blue Marlin wi/20 pound spinning tackle. The Blue Marlin fishin will be good over the next 2 months especially around the full moons of June and July. We will continue to catch Big Dolphin between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis through the month of June, after that we’ll be catchin more Dolphin but most will be in the 5 to 10 pound range. The Sailfishin has been excellent considering this is the end of May, you’re not going to catch 6 or 8 of them but 2 or 3 is a good possibility and they always put on a great show when they’re hooked-up. Over the next 30 days the Giant Tarpon will be movin into the area in numbers providing lots of action along the beach, some of these fish will go 150 to 200 pounds. The Tarpon is one of the most sought after sportfish in the world and rightfully so, these fish have alot of heart and will fight you til the bitter end providing an acrobatic show you’ll never forget. The summer months are upon us and that means Swordfishin is now on the menu, the conditions are right and the Sworfish are waiting. This is a great time to get out on the Reel Busy, calm seas, sunny skies and lots of fish, you’re gonna love it !
