Hello Fish Fans, The fishing this past week was Red Hot off the coast of Stuart Florida. The Dolphin are everywhere tearin up schools of flying fish all along the edge of the Gulfstream. Most of these Dolphin are heavy lifters and gaffers. Heavy lifters are Dolphin between 6 to 8 pounds, kinda small to gaff but kinda heavy to sling into the boat. The gaffers we’re catchin are 12 to 25 pounds right now and we’re catchin 7 to 10 per trip. The Sailfishing has turned on as well and packs of Sailfish are teamiing the waters off the coast of Stuart for their annual migration. Last weekend the Dophin were the main attraction and the Sailfishing was hit and miss but we did manage to catch one anyway. The best day this past week was Thursday and although the sea conditions were Sporty the fishing was as good as it gets anywhere in the world. We caught 3 out of the 4 Sailfish we hooked up and caught 11 Dolphin from 8 to 20 pounds. There’s a high pressure system moving into the area and the forcast is for 6 to 8 foot seas for most of next week so we probably won’t have a fishing report for you next week. The conditions get a little sporty when the winds kick up to 15 or 20 miles an hour with 4 to 6 foot seas but when it’s 20 to 30 miles an hour it’s hardly fishable. I don’t expect the sea conditions to improve til next weekend but I hope they do cause the fishing is great right now and it drives me nuts to be stuck at the dock. I’ll be back as soon as I get out with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters
