Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida has been great and there’s a Red Hot MAHI-MAHI bite just 8 to 10 miles off the beach. We’ve been catching gaffers and slammers (15 to 25 pound Dolphin ) on every trip and had one Big Bull that weighed 32.5 pounds this week. That Bull put on a show as it charged in towards the teaser before rolling onto it’s side and inhaling the ballyhoo that lurked behind the teaser. There’s nothing more awesome than a Big Bull Dolphin on the end of the line all lit up in neon blues & green as it comes up out of the water to let you know he’s a bad ass. The strength and attitude of a Monster Dolphin will test your will every time as they turn that big flat head against the current and just sit there 10 to 15 feet below the surface creating a stand-off. It’s always a yell of excitement and a sigh of relief when the gaff comes over the side with a Monster Bull Dolphin on the hook. The Sailfishing isn’t red hot by any means but we’ve been catching 1 or 2 Sailfish on most of our trips. There’s still quite a few Sailfish lurking the waters off the coast of Stuart and any day could be a great day . We won’t have many days catching more than 2 or 3 Sailfish this time of year but the Dolphin will provide plenty of action in-between the Sailfish bites. The Blackfin Tuna are starting to move onto the hill and won’t be long before they’re stacked up and ready to play the game. Most of the Tuna we’ve been catching have been 4 to 6 pounds and we’ll catch more in the 8 to 12 pound range in the coming weeks. We catch a few Blackfin Tuna in the 15 to 25 pound range on the hill but most of our Big Blackfin Tuna and Yellowfin Tuna are caught on the East Side Tuna Trip off the Bahama Bank during the sprig and summer months.
