Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida this time of year is good to excellent so let’s go fishin’. The seas have settled down from the cold fronts of January and the sailfish, mahi mahi and kingfish have been providing the action. Wahoo, blackfin tuna and cobia will be added to mix in the coming weeks.
The sailfish are scattered about so one day delivers 6 to 8 bites and it’s just one or two the next. There’s still plenty of sailfish around so on most days you’ll get at least 1 or 2 hooked up. The mahi mahi bite slowed a bit last month but it started picking back up last week. Most of the mahi mahi have been 5 to 10 pounds, the largest last week was 18 pounds.
Kingfish and blackfin tuna are starting to show up and they’ll continue to be more plentiful as spring approaches. As packs of herring and sardines push down the coast the cobia will be in tow. The waters been warming up a bit so various snappers, trigger’s and sea bass will keep your reel busy if you’re looking to bend the rods bottom fishing.
Now’s the time to get hooked up with Reel Busy Charters. Call Capt. Wayne to reserve your next fishing charter or Bahamas Fishing Adventure. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne Brodeur 772-341-6609
