Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida was great for most of the week and we’ve been catchin’ Sailfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, Kingfish and Permit. Saturday was the only day last week we didn’t catch any quality fish and we fished from 75′ to 750′ of water. The Dolphin fishing was excellent the rest of the week and we caught 10 or more Dolphin on most of our trips. The full moon might have helped to slow the Dolphin bite down for a couple of days but the Dolphin fishing off the coast of Jupiter and Jensen beach will continue to be good to excellent on most days for the next 6 weeks. There’s a few more Sailfish around these days and we’ve been catchin’ or jumping off a Sailfish on most of our trips. The summertime Sailfish Bite is much more aggressive and watching them show up behind a lure traveling 7 knots bubbling up the water is an awesome sight to see. The Blackfin Tuna bite is still a bit on and off at the hill but we had a couple of days with a dozen. The seas will be settling down over the next couple of days and I expect the Tuna fishing will be excellent. Most of the Blackfin Tuna will be 5 to 10 pounds but 15 to 25 pounds is always a possibility. The sea conditions haven’t been conducive for a 60 mile ride or Tuna Fishing but the seas conditions look to be improving and I hope to have a Yellowfin Tuna fishing report from the Bahama Bank reel soon. We target a variety of different fish throughout the year as the seasons change but I always like to ask our clients what they’d most like to catch. It went like this; Dolphin and Tuna sounds great, maybe a Wahoo and I’ve always wanted to catch a Permit if there’s any around. Sure, No Problem , Just call me Capt. Houdini . We bought some crabs on the way out for Permit fishing and headed offshore for Dolphin & Tuna. We got lucky first thing in the morning and caught 1 out of 2 Wahoo Bites. Their luck continued on into the day catching a pile of Dolphin & Blackfin Tuna. We took the last hour or so and headed closer to shore hoping to find the pack of Permit that had been moving on and off the Sandpile for the last two weeks. It continued to be a picture perfect day when we pulled up to the sandpile and the permit were just hanging out waiting to play the game. We tossed in a crab and hooked up a 40 to 50 pound Permit. We ending up losing the first Permit to a shark after about a 20 minute fight but landed the second Permit weighing 47 lbs. before heading back to the dock. The fishing will continue to be good to excellent on most days and we’ll be catchin’ Dolphin, Tuna, Cobia, Kingfish, Wahoo, Sailfish and more so give us a call and get Hooked up with Reel Busy Charters. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Catch you later, Capt. Wayne Brodeur, Reel Busy Charters 772 341 6609
