Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida has been good but the conditions have been sporty and then some. The Sailfishing has been slowing down for the past few weeks and back to back cold fronts have scattered them to deeper offshore waters. The good news is the springtime fishery is taking over and we’re catchin’ Dolphin, Blackfin Tuna and Cobia. Giant Manta Rays are showing up along the current edges with packs of Cobia beneath them. Locate the Rays and it doesn’t take long to catch the one per person limit. Small Blackfin Tuna in the 3 to 5 pound range have begun stacking up on Push Button Hill about 12 miles off the beach. It’s a bit early for them and they’ll get bigger but they’re tasty. The Dolphin fishing has been good and will only get better over the next few weeks. The cold fronts have kept the Dolphin further offshore but if you venture out to 600 feet of water you’ll catch’em. We caught a dozen Dolphin yesterday in the 7 to 10 pound range and lost a couple more. The fishing is good and with a little bit of luck old man winter will get lost and the conditions will be as good as the fishing. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt.
