Hello Fish Fans, Sailfish season might be off to a slow start this year but we’re bending the rods on dolphin and kingfish while hunting the sailfish down. The lack of cold fronts has the first push of migrating sailfish stalled out between Sebastian and Cape Canaveral but back to back cold fronts have them on the move.
Acres of baitfish like sardines and threadfins started pushing through over the weekend just a few miles off the beach. Migrating packs of sailfish and cobia won’t be far behind and we look forward to some red hot Stuart Florida Fishing.
We’ve been catching 1 or 2 sailfish on most of our Stuart Florida Fishing Charters and with cold fronts pushing through we should start catching at least 3 to 5 sailfish on most of our fishing charters reel soon. The sailfish bite should fire up over the next week or so and continue to be excellent on into February this year.
The dolphin/ mahi mahi fishing was good to excellent last week catching 7 to 10 dolphin on most of our fishing charters. The dolphin right now are running 5 to 10 pounds with a few 15 to 25 pound dolphin scattered about. Kingfish are still stacked up around the usual spots and if you’ve got a smoker a few kingfish slabs are a must.
