Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida is still a bit hit & miss but we’re catching Sailfish, Dolphin, Kingfish, Tuna, Cobia and Bonita. The Summertime Sailfish Bite has been excellent from 60 to 100 feet of water just 3 to 5 miles off the beach. There’s a few being caught on the troll but the best bite has been live bait fishing with Threadfins around the reefs & wrecks. There’s been plenty of Threadfins on most days off Jensen Beach and it’s worth taking the time to catch’em if Sailfish is your primary target. The reefs & wrecks are loaded with Bonita so there’s plenty of action in-between Sailfish, Kingfish and Cobia bites. The Tuna bite on Push Button Hill just 10 miles off the beach has been hit & miss as well. One day we catch a dozen or more Blackfin Tuna and the next day it’s a struggle to catch a couple. Most of the Blackfins on the hill have been 4 to 5 pounds and we’re not seeing many of 10 to 12 pounds but we’re catching a few. The Dolphin fishing has been disappointing the last few weeks along the edge of the Gulfstream so yesterday we headed out 25 miles to the heart of the gulfstream. We caught 6 nice Dolphin, pulled off a couple more and crossed paths with 2 big schools of Dolphin that didn’t want to play the game. Live bait, dead bait, trolled bait didn’t matter, they we’re swimming all around us, even jumping out of the water at times but had no interest in feeding. The easterly breezes will eventually push the Dolphin closer to the coast but the best Dolphin bite right now is 20 miles out in 1200 feet of water. The Tuna fishing off the corner of the Bahama Bank is excellent right now and will continue to be for the next 6 to 8 weeks. The Yellowfin Tuna vary from 40 to 80 pounds and the Blackfin Tuna will be 10 to 25 pounds. The corner trip is a fishing adventure you’ll never forget and you’ll catch Tuna, Dolphin, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish and Wahoo. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. We’re catching fish and you can to just give us a call and let’s go catch’em.
