Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida’s been good and we’re catching Sailfish, Dolphin, Cobia & Kingfish. The summer sailfish bite continues to be good to excellent on the blue water edge that was in 400 to 500 feet of water this week. The Sailfish are meandering the gulfstream and sliding up to the north so you probably won’t catch double digits like in the winter time but we’re catching 2 or 3 on most of our Sailfish Charters. Yesterday the color change was about 12 miles out in 500 feet of water and we caught & released 3 Sailfish on a 1/2 day Stuart Florida Fishing Charter. We headed out into the heart of the gulfstream earlier in the week to hunt down a few Dolphin. We were marking allot of birds on the radar so we ran out about 20 miles to 900 feet of water. We found schools of bait, packs of birds and a Cuban Raft with a pair of Dolphin. I was surprised there was only a couple of Dolphin on the raft but the bull was about 20 pounds and the cow about 10 so it’s all good. We caught 6 or 8 more Dolphin off schools of bait fish and weed patties in 900 feet of water and had a great day. There’s been a few Dolphin caught closer to shore but the best Dolphin Bite is 15 to 20 miles out and probably will be for another 6 to 8 weeks. Closer to shore just 3 to 5 miles off the beach we’re catching Kingfish and Cobia up to about 40 pounds. The reefs, wrecks and rubble are holding allot of bait fish so Kingfish, Cobia and Bonita are tearin’em up. The tuna fishing on the hill slowed to a crawl but I expect it will improve when the blue water returns to the hill.
