Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida has been fair to good over the last few weeks but last week the Summertime Sailfish turned on. The summer sailfish run is a great time for those who always wanted to catch a sailfish but prefer not to venture out into the sporty sea conditions that generally come with the winter sailfish run. There’s not too much going on this week with the rainy weather that’s hanging here but by the weekend the conditions will be as good as it gets. There’s been a few more dolphin around as well but it will be a few weeks before they become a consistant catch. Fall is just around the corner and the Wahoo are starting to show up. The full moons of Septmber, October and Novenber will be prime time for Wahoo fishing both on the Stuart side of the gulfstream and even better on the Bahamas side. There’s still a few Blackfin Tuna on the hill in the 5 to 8 pound range but we haven’t been seeing the 15 to 20 pound Tunas for the last couple of weeks. The Tuna will keep thining out as the Wahoo and Sailfish move in but there should be a few around for the next week or two. I took last week off and went up to Cape May for the Mid-Atlantic 500 Marlin Tournament. We caught a few but never found the big one to put us in the money. It’s great to be back where the action is 5 to 10 miles off the beach instead of 90 miles. I don’t think I could deal with a 90 mile ride on a daily basis and there’s no doubt we’re spoiled here in Stuart. We’re catchin’ fish and you should to so give me a call and we’ll hook you up. I’ll be back in September with another fishing report from Stuart Florida Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt.
