Hello Fish Fans, There’s always a few Sailfish lingering around the waters off the coast of Stuart Florida but the migration has begun and packs of little Sailfish are showing up. The first packs of Sailfish to show up during the migration are the little ones and they’re here. There’s a few big ones around leading the way but most of the Sailfish we’re catchin are 20 to 30 pounds. The boats that have not perfected circle hook ballyhoo rigs are jumpimg off more than they’re catching right now, most of them blaming it on the size of the fish instead of their rigging. Most of us old dogs are set in our ways but last year when circle hooks became mandatory in all Sailfish tournaments I needed to find the perfect circle hook ballyhoo rig and tried them all. I ended up combining two different styles of rigging techniques and the end result is a dead ballyhoo that swims like it’s alive and delivers a hook-up ratio that exceeds 90 percent. Live bait or dead bait doesn’t matter, the Reel Busy catches more Sailfish than most of the competition most of the time. Call the other guys if your lookin for a boat ride and a cabin to take a nap, but when you wanna catch Sailfish give us a call and we’ll hook you up. A slow day Sailfishing this time of year usually produces 1 or 2, a good day will produce 3 to 5. ***The sea conditions over the next few months can be a little bit sporty sometimes for those who aren’t used to being on the water. Many people take Dramamine to prevent motion sickness. STOP ! Dramamine turns most people into airheads too tired to enjoy themselves and prevents hurling less than 50% of the time. Pick up ginger tabs at the health food store, take 2 at bedtime a/2 first thing in the morning and go enjoy your day on the water.
