Hello Fish Fans, The last 10 days has been all over the place, good fishin and slow fishin, calm seas and 10 foot seas, sunny skies and mostly cloudy, we’ve had it all. The outside edge of the reef has been the most consistant, we’ve been catchin Sailfish, Dolphin , Kingfish and more Bonita than I can count. The Bonita are all over the reefs edge, they’re not edible in my book but they reely put up a fight and we’ve been hookin-up 3 and 4 at a time. The Dolphin fishin has been hit and miss, some days have been excellent with plenty of 20 to 30 pounders but some days they’ve been non-exsistant. The weather fronts that I expected to be gone by now continue to pass through tearin up the weedlines and current edges, when they move through the Dolphin fishin shuts down to a crawl and it takes 2 or 3 days to get goin again. The Sailfishin picks up everytime one of these fronts moves through and then slows back down when the seas settle down. The Kingfish are showin up in greater numbers but we’re not catchin any big ones, most of these fish are 7 to 15 pounds, the big ones should be right behind them but we’ll see. May is finally here and that means more big Dolphin will be movin around the Gulfstream, we’ll start seeing bigger schools of Dolphin as well. The wind and seas should have become more stable a month ago, sooner or later it will happen and when it does the fishin will be excellent. This past weekend the seas we’re 8 to 10 feet with a 25 mph wind, too rough for most to be comfortable and the ones who went found the fishin to be on the slow side. The conditions have to improve sooner or later and when they do you can bet the Dolphin fishin will be excellent. I’ll be back in about 10 days with another fishin report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch You Later, Captain Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 305-304-9049 cell or 772-288-1332 home
