Hello Fish Fans, The week started out great with alot of big Dolphin, 25 to 40 pounders seem to be everywhere but as the week went on it became reel tough to put a good catch together. The gulfstream currents were screaming along at 4 to 5 knots and everyday the moon was getting bigger and bigger. The wind has switched around again which should slow the currents down to normal but with a full moon May 2nd this week you’ll need to catch’em early, by mid day you can expect the fishing to slow down until late afternoon when the Dolphin start feeding again. May 10th to the 25th will be some of the best Dolphin fishing of the year for those of you that want to catch Big Dolphin in the 25 to 50 pound class. The Blue Marlin fishing off the coast of stuart is excellent this time of year and will be throughout the summer months. The full moons may not be the best time for Dolphin fishing but Blue Marlin fishing is always better around the full moon. There’s still quite a few Sailfish around and if you put your time in you’ll probably catch a couple, you’ll need to be patient but you’ll catch’em. The conditions have prevented us from searching out the Yellowfin Tuna on the backside of the gulfstream but we’re catching a few Blackfin Tuna and Skipjack Tuna while runnin and gunnin for Dolphin. The Reel Busy is the top boat in the Stuart Area when it comes to Dolphin fishing because of the run and gun style perfected in the years spent in Islamorada. Nobody will put you on more Dolphin than the Reel Busy so give me a call and let’s go get’em. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Captain Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 305-304-9049 cell or 772-288-1332 home
