Hello fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart has been fair to good thanks to the cold fronts that keep pushing west winds into the area for days at a time. Bonita are everywhere and the first few are fun to catch but after a while you just want them to leave the baits alone so the Dolphin or Sailfish can get a chance to eat. The Manta Rays are starting to show up, unfortunetly the conditions have prevented the Cobia from tagging along but when the conditions improve we’ll be catchin Cobia on a regular basis. The Sailfishing has been on and off but there’s still a few around if you put your time in you’ll catch’em. I did my first Tuna Trip to the corner a couple of days ago and caught 15 Blackfin Tuna up to 25 pounds in just a few hours. The Yellowfin Tuna haven’t shown up on the corner yet but the Blackfin Tuna are plentifull. The Tuna Trip is a 60 mile ride but when the sea conditions are mild it’s only about an hour and a half on the Reel Busy and the action is well worth the trip. The sea conditions slowed us down a little on this trip but it still only took two hours to get to the Tuna grounds. I’ll be back in a week or two with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World.
