Hello Fish Fans, Summertime is here and the Blackfin Tuna are throwing a party so grab your favoriye Tuna Lures and hit the hill. There’s a ridge about 12 miles off the coast of Stuart and the Blackfin Tuna are all over it bustin up flying fish and squid. They moved in last weekend and have been there all week so I don’t expect them to leave anytime soon. They could stick around for weeks and sometimes for months but we’ll just have to wait and see. These Blackfin aren’t reel big but there not reel small averaging about 5 to 8 pounds and as good as it gets on a plate. On 2 trips this week we caught 20 or more in about 2 hours catchin double and triples on every pass. The Dolphin fishin has been on and off on this side of the Gulfstream but on the eastern edge of the gulfstream towards the Bahama Bank the Dolphin fishin is red hot with Dolphin up to 50 pounds. I’ll be fishin the backside of the Gulfstream this weekend and with a little bit of luck we’ll load up on 20 to 30 pounders and maybe find that 40 to 50 pound Bull that’s eluded me so far this year. The Yellowfin Tuna have been consistently showing up 15 miles south of Lucaya and about 15 miles nort of Matanilla Shoals. Most of these Yellofin tuna are 35 to 65 pounds but tuna over 100 pounds are always a good possibility. Blackfin Tuna up to 25 pounds are right up against the Bahama Bank off Matanilla Shoal in 200 feet of water. This is a great time of year to put together a Bahama’s Trip so get out your passport and give us a call. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Give me a call and let’s go catchem’ ! Catch you later, Capt.
