Hello Fish Fans, The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida was excellent last week but slowed with the westerly winds over the weekend. We’ve been catching 10 to 20 Dolphin everyday on birds & debris about 15 miles out in 600 to 800 feet of water. There’s a few Dolphin closer to shore but the Dolphin fishing is consistently better in the heart of the gulfstream this time of year. Most of the Dolphin we’ve been catching are 3 to 5 pounds with a few 6 to 8 pound Dolphin in the mix. There’s allot of Big Dolphin 20 to 40 pounds on the Bahamas side of the gulfstream so I’m sure we’ll catch a few more big ones in the coming weeks. We’ve been catching 2 or 3 tunas weighing 10 to 15 pounds on most of our charters and had one day with 6 last week. Most of the Tunas have been between 650′ and 850′ of water and pushing hard and fast to the south. We don’t get allot of call for Sailfishing Charters this time of year but the Sailfishing should be excellent the next few weeks. We’ve been seeing at least 6 to 8 free jumping Sailfish everyday and everywhere from 100′ and 1000′ of water but not many bites. Yesterday we caught 2, lost 1 and missed 1 Sailfish on plastic lures we were dragging for Tunas so I think it safe to say there starting to get fired up. July is an excellent month for a Bahamas Fishing Vacation or a day trip to the corner and the REEL BUSY will hook you up with a great time catching Tuna, Dolphin, Marlin and more. I’ll be back next week with another Stuart Florida Fishing Report, Sailfish Capital of the World.
