Hello Fish Fans, The offshore fishing here in Stuart over the last 3 to 4 weeks has been great but southwest winds put the breaks on yesterday. We managed to catch a Sailfish and a couple of Dolphin but after weeks of red hot fishing I was dissapointed. The winds swing around to west as a cool front approaches and a temporary slow down in the fishing usually occurs, they seem to get lockjaw. Oddly enough the best day Sailfishing on the Reel Busy this year was on a west wind, we caught 10 and lost a couple more. I told them when we left the dock not to expect too much due to the west wind and we spent more time catchin than fishin. The winds will be swinging back to normal later today and you can bet the fishing to turn back on when it does. We’re starting to see the little Sailfish that start moving in at the beginning of the Sailfish migration. Some of these Sailfish are only 5 to 10 pounds and it’s important that you don’t try to handle them by their bill because it’s very soft and not yet developed . The fishing will pick back up in the next day or so with Sailfish, Dolphin, Kingfish and Wahoo providing the action. Give us a call and let’s go catchem’. I’ll be back next week with another fishing report from Stuart Florida, Sailfish Capital of the World. Catch you later, Capt. Wayne, Reel Busy Charters 772-288-1332 home or 305-304-9049 cell
