Hello Fish Fans, The Sailfishing this past week was excellent between the fronts but Valentines Day was one sweet valentine. The bait pods were close to shore in 40 to 50 feet of water but they were moving around so fast they were really hard to catch. I started putting out the lines as we caught bait and almost immediately hooked-up a double header. We caught a few more baits and soon after we caught another Sailfish. I bet we didn’t have more than a dozen baits in the well the entire day but almost evry bait we caught turned into a Sailfish. We kept working the same area and a little while later with the last 4 baits in the well we caught a triple, it’s absolutely nuts when you’ve got 3 Sailfish dancing all around the boat while we try to fique out which one we can catch first. We found another little pod of bait and put another dozen in the well. We put out the lines and it didn’t take long before a pack of Sailfish ambushed us and we hooked-up 3 of the 4 Sailfish that attacked our baits. While 3 of my 4 anglers were fighting their fish I put out another line for the 4th angler to watch and sure enough we hooked-up a 4th Sailfish while I was releasing the first, it just doesn’t get any better than that, you gotta love it. We ended up catching 10 out of the 12 Sailfish we hooked-up on Valentines Day and the Reel Busy is once again the top boat for Sailfish releases in a day at pirates Cove Resort and marina, How Sweet it is.
