Hello Fish Fans, Welcome aboard the Reel Busy and to our Stuart Florida Fishing Report. There wasn’t much fishing aboard the REEL BUSY in September with Hurricanes and annual haul out for paint, wax and maintenance but we’re back on the water catching fish.
October started out pitifully slow with a scattering of dolphin, tuna, kingfish and sailfish. Thankfully the catching got better and better as the week went on with more and more dolphin showing up. Most of the dolphin we’re catching are gaffers from 8 to 12 pounds with a few pushing 20. We only caught a few dolphin on Saturday but she held tight to the bull and won 1st place in the Treasure Coast GCSA Tournament.
During the fall dolphin show up off the coast of Stuart Florida in numbers and they’re on the feed. Yesterday the dolphin bite was red hot and we ended up catching 15 gaffers from 10 to 20 pounds and a sailfish to boot. The dolphin fishing should continue to be good to excellent on most days throughout the fall so go us a call and we’ll go catch’em.
The early arrivers in the sailfish migration are starting to show up as well. Some of these young sailfish pups are only 5 to 10 pounds while others will be 75 pounds or more. It was awesome watching this little guy as he tried to figure out the best way to attack our trolled ballyhoo.
There’ll be a few wahoo off the coast of Stuart/Jupiter during the fall but now’s the time of year for a Bahamas Fishing Adventure for serious wahoo fishing. The wahoo bite is excellent and discounted accommodations are available during the fall.
We’ll be catching fish and you can too just give us a call and get hooked up with Reel Busy Charters. CALL Capt. Wayne Brodeur 772-341-6609
