Welcome aboard the Reel Busy and to our Stuart Florida Fishing Report. The lack of cold weather this winter slowed the sailfish migration to a crawl. Mahi Mahi and Kingfish have provided most of the action the last couple of months with a few sailfish, wahoo and bonito in the mix.
Springtime fish are moving in and we’ll be catching Mahi Mahi, Kingfish, Blackfin Tuna, Cobia and Wahoo on our Stuart Florida Fishing Charters. Now’s the time to lock in your dates for our Bahamas Fishing Adventures for April, May, June and July. Call Capt. Wayne for details and availability.
March, April and May are the top 3 months for dolphin fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida, also called mahi mahi or dorado. Packs of dolphin of 5 to 10 pounds are starting to show up now and smaller packs of slammer dolphin of 15 to 25 pounds will start showing up in April. April and May are the top two months for catching trophy size Bull Dolphin of 30 to 50 pounds off the coast of Stuart Florida.
Blackfin Tuna will start stacking up on a ridge just 10 miles offshore this month. Many of these tuna are 5 to 10 pounds with a few 15 to 25 pound tunas in the mix. They’re not monster tuna but there’s no limit and they’re usually eager to play the game.
Wahoo aren’t as plentiful as dolphin or tuna but the springtime bite around the full moons can be excellent. Most of our wahoo are 15 to 25 pounds and there’s a few caught every year from 40 to 60 pounds on the edge of the gulfstream from Stuart to Jupiter Florida.
Kingfish or King Mackerel are usually plentiful during the next couple of months from Jensen Beach to Jupiter Florida and always a sight to see as they sky out of the water like fire works crashing the baits.
Cobia will start moving onto the reefs and wrecks this month. We’ve started to see a few giant manta rays already so sight fishing for cobia off the manta rays is coming soon. Most of the cobia we catch are 20 to 30 pounds and we catch a few 40 to 60 pound cobia every year.
There’s still allot of sailfish to the north of us so don’t be surprised if you catch a sailfish or two during your springtime Stuart Florida Fishing Charter.
We’ll be catching fish and you can too ! Call Capt. Wayne Brodeur aboard the REEL BUSY and we’ll hook you up with a great day on the water catching fish. Thanks for considering Reel Busy Charters and we look forward to taking you fishing. Capt. Wayne 772-341-6609 Reel Busy Charters
