Hello Fish Fans, Welcome aboard the REEL BUSY and to our Stuart Florida Fishing Report. The wind finally settled down last week and we caught mahi mahi, tuna, kingfish and sailfish. The wind kicked back up this week and next week is looking good.

We had an excellent mahi mahi bite last week catching a dozen on one trip with a sailfish release and 13 another day and pulled off a sailfish. Most of the dolphin or mahi mahi have been 4 to 6 pounds with a few gaffers of 8 to 12 pounds. The dolphin fishing will remain good to excellent on most days and get even better as springtime settles in.

We’ve been catching a sailfish or two on most of our Stuart Florida Fishing Charters and this should continue on into the springtime. Stuart Florida is the Sailfish Capital of the World and we catch sailfish year round. The winter months are considered prime time during the sailfish migration and the summer months of June and July and august can be red hot as well.

The blackfin tuna started moving into the area last week and as springtime settles in they’ll be abundant. We caught 9 blackfin tuna of 7 to 10 pounds on a ridge just 10 miles off the beach a couple days ago when the dolphin bite slowed down. The tuna bite is good to excellent on most days during the springtime so give us a call and let’s go catch’m.

Small kingfish or king mackerel of 5 to 10 pounds are moving onto the reefs and wrecks. The larger kingfish of 20 to 40 pounds will show up as we transition into springtime. There’s been a few wahoo scattered about and there’s more on the way. The cobia haven’t shown up in numbers yet but they’ll be here soon.

It’s a great time of year for Stuart Florida Fishing so give us a call and let’s get busy catching fish. Now’s the time to book your spring break fishing charter or your Bahamas Fishing Adventure for the spring and summer months. Call or text Capt. Wayne Brodeur at 772-341-6609 Reel Busy Charters
