Hello Fish Fans, Welcome aboard the REEL BUSY. The fishing off the coast of Stuart Florida’s been hit and miss. Some days we’ll catch a few nice dolphin and other days it’s a struggle to catch one. The cool fronts continued through the month of April and westerly winds have kept the dolphin bite on the east side of the gulfstream. Strong easterly breezes are blowing this week so there should be a much better dolphin bite by the weekend. Hope to have an excellent dolphin report for our next Stuart Florida Fishing report.
There’s been a scattering of sailfish, tuna, wahoo and kingfish. The blackfin tuna are starting to show up and within the next week or so we should have blackfin tuna stacked up on a ridge 10 miles off the coast of Stuart. The sailfish will continue to be scattered about but we’ll get a sailfish or two in the spread on most days. The kingfish are starting to show up especially to the south towards Jupiter. Some of these smoker kings are 40 to 50 pounds and they’ll get more plentiful as the water warms up. The wahoo bites been good. Most of the wahoo are 15 to 25 pounds but there was another 45 pound wahoo weighed in two days ago.
Had a great time on a Two Day Bahamas Fishing Adventure last week. Cleared customs at West End, Grand Bahama Island and fished the Northwest Channel on the first day. Not much bird activity, choppy seas and scattered weeds. Caught some dolphin but never found the yellowfin tuna birds we we’re looking for. The second day we fished the corner 40 miles north of West End and caught Big Dolphin, Big Blackfin Tuna and a nice wahoo. The fishing off the Bahama Bank is second to none May, June and July. We’ll be catching yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, dolphin, wahoo, blue marlin, snapper and grouper. Customize your 2, 3 or 4 day Bahamas Fishing Adventure with Capt. Wayne today.
